Vernon Walker

KERNERSVILLE – Vernon Edwin Walker, 84, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at his home. Vernon was born on December 4, 1935 in Caswell County to Sterling Thomas and Annie McGuire Walker. Vernon had many talents and interests – he loved woodworking, owned an upholstery shop, dealt in real estate, and could fix anything. Vernon also loved being outdoors and enjoyed camping. Vernon loved his coffee and fudge ripple ice cream.

In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his brother, Sterling Harvey Walker; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Binkley Walker.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Tolley Walker; four children, Cindy Tuttle (Ralph), Russell Walker, Sherrie Wood (John, Jr.), and Karl Walker (caretaker and friend, Lydia Moser); four grandchildren, Ginny Ivey (Mark), Rachel Powell (Adam), Stephanie Walker, and Samuel Walker; four great grandchildren, Reagan Ivey, Caden Powell, Kenzie Ivey, and Allie Lou Powell; two sisters, Velma Sturgill (George), and Donna Conner; and numerous  cousins, nieces and nephews .
