Susan Washinsky

After a brave struggle, Susan passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord at her home in Clemmons.  Born in Greensboro, NC, daughter of Betty (Deceased) & Howard Morgan of Willis, VA. Survived by her husband of 32 years, John of Clemmons, son Michael of High Point, sister Lisa Morgan of Winston Salem.  She was a 1983 Graduate of UNCG with a BS in Mathematics and Spanish.  Employed as a Benefits Analyst for Booke & Co. and AON from 1983 until 2008, when she accepted the role of Office Manager for the family business, All Things Ukrainian. Susan was a lover of languages, fluent in Spanish, Ukrainian, Italian, German, and Greek. She used her skill to help others and translated for Sunnyside Ministries in Winston Salem, and in Guatemala for the Orthodox Christian Ministries. Susan was a longtime member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Choir. She was an avid reader and writer and composed poetry and fiction.  She enjoyed traveling, Ukrainian art and culture, and never stopped learning.  She shared her love of gardening with her son, grew beautiful flowers and tasty produce.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. George Kouzelis officiating. Interment to follow in Forsyth Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with a Trisagion Service being held at 7:30 PM.  The family appreciates the valiant efforts and care of WFBH Medical Oncology and Hematology and Trellis Hospice Services.
