Scott Nelson

Stokesdale – Mr. Darren Scott Nelson, 47, passed away suddenly March 21, 2021. He was born June 21, 1973 in Guilford County to Johnny Lee Nelson and the late Patricia Annette Pegg.

Scott graduated from Southeast Guilford High School in 1992. He was an accomplished baseball player and “pitcher” for Southeast baseball team. Scott also had a love for basketball especially the Duke Blue Devils. For many years he was a manager over car sales, and most recently a sales manager at TruGreen Lawncare. Scott enjoyed spending time with his family, playing sports, always smiling and making others laugh. He was always there with a listening ear when you needed someone to talk to. Scott was a loving son, brother, cousin, dad, brother-in-law, uncle, fiancé’ and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Johnny Lee Nelson and Virginia; son, Nicholas Nelson; two sisters, Sherri Nelson (Jimmy), and Lori Suits (Mike); one brother, Andy Nelson (Angie); fiancé’, Brianna Hedrick; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private memorial service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
