Carolyn Billings Bennett, 86, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2022. Carolyn was born May 27, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Hobert William Billings and Beulah Groce Billings. Carolyn worked over 25 years at Bocock-Stroud Company from where she retired. She was a longtime and faithful member of Beck’s Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with them. Carolyn was an avid Tarheel fan and loved watching their games. Carolyn will be remembered for many things, but especially her kind, gentle ways, her giving heart, and her love for her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years: Wade E Bennett, two sons: Greg Bennett and Jeffrey Neal Bennett, two brothers: Carl Lee Billings and Gary Billings, two sisters: Mildred O’Brien and Helen Boger. Carolyn is survived by one son Steve Bennett (Debbie), five grandchildren: Stefanie Lyons (Ricky), Jeff Bennett, Audrey Stewart, Will Bennett, and Ally Bennett, and 8 great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Monday February 7, 2022 at Becks Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Nelson officiating. Flowers will be accepted but memorials may be made to Becks Baptist Church, Trellis Supportive Care, or Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be made to www.hayworth-miller.com
