Zoldean Emerson Smith

WALKERTOWN - Zoldean ""Dean"" Smith, 88, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Walnut Cove Health Care. She was born on March 27, 1921, in Yadkin County, to the late Will & Emma Roberson Emerson. Zoldean was an active member of Gospel Light Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Howard and Charles Emerson. Surviving is her husband, Billy Smith, of Walkertown. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Bus Ministry at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 890 Walkertown-Guthrie Road, Winston-Salem, NC, 27101. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Smith family.
