Z.J.. Jack Charles, Jr.

Winston-Salem: NC: Charles: Mr. Z.J. ""Jack"" Charles, Jr. 66 of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Jack took his final train ride driving the J 611 and blowing the whistle. Mr. Charles was born May 15, 1943 in Forsyth County to Z.J. Charles, Sr. and Betty Lou Kimball Charles. He was retired from Piedmont Airlines/US Air after 40 years of service. Jack was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Bonnie Myers Charles of the home; his sons; Chris Charles, Andy Charles; a grandson, Jeffery Charles, a sister, Pamela Hill, a brother Michael Charles and wife, Lois; his niece, Sara Charles; his nephew, David Hill and a special aunt and uncle, Curt and Nancy Fulk. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 pm Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A Graveside Service will follow in the Westlawn Gardens of Memory Cemetery conducted by Chaplain Doug Evans.
