Zena Gordy Snyder

The Lord called, Zena Gordy Snyder, home on Saturday, July 27, 2013. She was born in Forsyth Co. on October 15, 1929 to the late Raymond Thomas Gordy and Anna Caudle Gordy. Zena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed deeply by all who knew her. She was a longtime member of Woodland Baptist Church where she was presently serving as president of the Faithfull Followers Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Bennett, a brother, Guy Gordy and a son-in-law, Gary Cox. Zena is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Harold Lee Snyder of the home, two daughters, Linda S. Cox of Winston-Salem and Marcia S. Willard (David) of Winston-Salem, three grandchildren, Michael Mayberry (Jennifer), Jason Willard and Anna Southworth (Mark) and three great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Effie and Alyssa. She is also survived by six sisters, MaryJane Kiger (Bub), Joann Womble, Joy Brunk (James), Gail Tuttle, Becky Shelton and Vicki Smith (Avery), five brothers, R.T. Gordy, Billy Gordy (Margie), Ray Gordy (Kay), Larry Gordy (Sue) and Lee Gordy (Judy), a sister-in-law, Judy Gordy, a brother-in-law, Don Bennett and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services for Zena will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 prior to the service at Woodland Baptist Church.
