Zachary "Neil" Zappia

Zachary “Neil” Zappia, 37, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Neil was born in Forsyth County on March 1, 1985 to Thomas Edward Zappia and Brenda McKoin Zappia. He was a talented baseball player during his high school years and was a proud cub scout.

Neil had a very warm personality and made friends very easily. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved watching college basketball and professional sports and enjoyed cooking meals for his family, especially on the holidays. Neil always had a smile for everyone and was truly a joy to be around.

Most of all, he loved his son Calix and loved to spend time with him, play games and take him special places.

In addition to his parents and his son Calix Zappia,  Neil is surviving by his brother, Nick Zappia; grandmothers, Donna Hedrick and Antonia Bryant; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

A private family graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
