Yun "Lana" Pete, 75, of Kernersville, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 23, 2025. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 25, 1949, in Cholla Nam-Do, South Korea to the late Kim Pong Sup and Choe Ok Kum. She was married to Edward (Ed) Pete Jr for 47 years before his passing in 2016. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Kwi Nam Kim and sister Sam Sun Kim. Lana never met a stranger, spreading the love of Jesus Christ every opportunity she had. She deeply loved her family. Being a grandmother (Mommom) was one of the greatest joys of her life. She often said she was a blessed woman, swimming in grace. She dedicated every morning to the Lord, spending hours praying, reading her bible and writing out scriptures. She loved spending time with family, friends and her beloved dog Lily. Cooking for her family was a favorite pastime which brought her much happiness. She served the Lord for many years, visiting nursing homes, hospital visitations and serving on food and flower committees throughout her church life. In her later years, she faithfully attended Greensboro Korean Baptist Church.
Lana was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother “Mommom”, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sherry Dudley (Shea) of Kernersville, NC and Sandy Brannan (Jake) of Snelling, CA; granddaughter, Cayley Bowers (Zack) of Kernersville, NC; grandson, Zac Painter (Lexi) and great-grandson Kai Benjamin Painter of Girard, OH; sisters, Mi Suk Cater (Bryan) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Chong Ye Kim (Chong Sun) of Charlotte, NC; nephews Andrew and Rob Kim of Charlotte, NC and Scott Edwards of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm, on Sunday, 3/2/2025 at Greensboro Korean Baptist Church at 4902 W Market St, Greensboro, NC. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
