Kernersville - Wytonia Lynn Handy Hanlon, 48, passed away May 21, 2010 at her residence. Wytonia was born February 24, 1962 in Forsyth Co. to Maxine Ellis Handy and the late Jimmy Lee Handy. She was a loving daughter mother, sister, and grandmother. She was lovingly known as ""Elmo"" by her granddaughter. She loved her Boston terrier, Sampson. She also loved to paint fingernails, read and do Bible studies. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son; Justin Hanlon and a sister, Karen Handy. Surviving her are; her loving mother; Maxine Handy of Kernersville, son; Zachary Shayne Hanlon and wife Laura Elaine, granddaughters; Ellie Baker and Ainsley Ruth, brother; Allen Handy and wife Andrea, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a dear friend Genell Hicks and uncle C. H. Ellis who have been very faithful during Wytonia's illness. Special thanks to the Aphresis Unit and chemotherapy nurses at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center along with Dr. John Owen who took such wonderful care of her. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Kernersville by Rev. Charles Arnold and Rev. Ben Rose. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday evening, May 24, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
