Wristle Thornton Buddy" Vanderburg, Jr.

KERNERSVILLE - Wristle Thornton ""Buddy"" Vanderburg, Jr., 66, passed away August 25, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born February 20, 1943 in Portsmouth, VA to the late Wristle Thornton Vanderburg, Sr. and Mary Frances Hubbard Vanderburg. Surviving are three sons, Jeff Vanderburg and wife Susan, Mark Vanderburg and wife Roxana all of High Point, and Doug Vanderburg and wife Marcia of Kernersville; two sisters, Martha Barrow of Nashville, TN, and Teresa Saunders of Charlotte; former wife, Phyllis Vanderburg of Kernersville; and seventeen grandchildren; Brittany, Sherrill, Agustin, Maria I., Maria C., Maria F., Luis, Tonya, Rebecca, Lauren, Ryan, Maggie, Hunter, Christian, Lucas, Zack, and Ty. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm Friday, August 28, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Nick Gerringer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
