Worth Bagley Shuman, Jr.

Worth Bagley Shuman Jr. born in Richmond, VA on February 17, 1925, and entered eternal life September 17, 2011. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Alice Messick Shuman, father Worth Bagley Shuman Sr, mother Ida Lee Minter, sister Jacquelyn Boschen and step daughter Carla Steptoe. ""Pop"" is survived by his daughter Linda Zachary (Arthur) of Virginia Beach, VA, son W.B. Shuman III (Jonita) of Roswell, GA, and step son James Jackson (Rebecca) of Winston Salem, NC. He is loved and remembered by his grandchildren Christopher and Mathew Zachary, Worth B. (IV) and Justin Shuman, Gabriel and Emree Steptoe, Miranda Wall and great- grandchildren Sierra, Lailah and Colin. Worth devoted his life to protect and serve. Upon High school graduation he served in WWII as an American Naval Warrior in the War of the Pacific. After WWII, he was honorably discharged and returned home to Richmond, Va. He later graduated from the Virginia Police Academy and served his community as a Deputy Sherriff for Henrico Co. for over a decade. Worth went on to pursue and retire from the trucking industry in the field of transportation and safety. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday September 22, 2011 at Salem Cemetery with Chaplain Fred Moretz officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers you may please make a donation to the Kate B.
