Winona 'Peggy' Moore Williams

Winona ""Peggy"" Moore Williams, 88, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida. Peggy was born July 8, 1923 in Johnson City, TN. to the late Henry Lynn and Louise Moore. She was retired after 35 years with AT&T, working part-time at Cook's Department Store, a waitress at Acadia Grill, and was a School Crossing Guard for many years. She was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church in the Union Cross Community. For the past few years, Peggy resided in Jacksonville, FL and was a member of Promiseland Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Fleming Williams and a nephew, Terry Moore. Surviving to cherish her memory are two step-sons; Robert Williams and wife, Peggy of Winston-Salem, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and John White of Winston-Salem. nephew; Gary Williams and wife, Patsy of Asheboro, NC., their children, Tammy Shively, Carl Williams, Joey Williams. Niece; Brenda Moore, nephew; Gary Moore and wife, Cheryle and their child, Jessica Moore all of Jacksonville, FL., niece; Tina Arnold and husband, Kevin, their children, Janie Lynn, Hamilton, Travis, Ashley, their grandchildren; Sterling, Desiree, Aleana all of Jacksonville, FL, and niece, Nancy Borbe and husband, Harry of Virgina. A Funeral Service will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, March 19, 2012 at Christ Wesleyan Church officiated by Rev. Rusty Sieck. Burial will follow in the Mt. Bethel Evangelical Covenant Church in Summerfield, NC. The Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Parkway.
