Wilson H. Browning

Summerfield - Wilson H. Browning, 70, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born May 17, 1942 in Forsyth Co. to the late Rufus Harvey and Dura Pearman Browning. Mr. Browning was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church and retired from Wachovia Bank after many years of service. He was a graduate of Oak Ridge Military Academy, High Point University and Appalachian State University. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Shanks Browning. Surviving are his wife, Lee Ann Bird Browning of the home; his son, Kevin Browning and wife, Kelly of Kannapolis; his daughter, Dana B. Wells and husband, Mark of Reidsville; four grandchildren, Grayson Browning, Avery, Weston, and Maylin Wells; one sister, Helen B. Martin and husband, Bobby of Kernersville; and a large extended family. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Kurtz and Rev. Karen Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. I lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Oak Ridge United Methodist Church c/o Back Pack Ministry, 2424 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, NC 27310. This ministry provides food for hungry children.
