Mr. Wilmer Clayton Parrish, 80, of Lexington, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a long illness. He went to be with his Lord and his beloved wife Kate May Parrish. Mr. Parrish was born on August 16, 1932 in Guilford County, NC to the late Gideon Parrish and Mary Katherine Garner. He was in the U.S. Army for 27 years and fought in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his wife, Kate May Parrish; his parents; four sisters, Mamie Parrish, Mable Parrish, Hattie Jonas, and Ruby Romeis; five brothers, Ollie, Spencer, Jack, Benford, and Numie. Surviving is a very loving sister, Mozelle Jones and husband, Holland; a nice, special caregiver, Linda Hildreth; a very special sister-in-law, Iva Admas; a niece, Delores Merritt, who loved him with all her heart; and a number of other nieces and nephews. A service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
