Willis "Pete" Lawrence Riddle

Mr. Willis Lawrence ""Pete"" Riddle, 88, of Advance, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 27, 1926 to the late Willis Vance and Sallie Cope Riddle. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dolly Vogler Riddle, to whom he was married for 67 years. As an only child, he was blessed to be a part of Dolly's family, the Voglers. The happiest years of his life were spent running his country store for 20 years. He later worked with his sons at Riddle Tractor for 27 years until retiring to care for his wife during her later years. He was proud to be a dedicated charter member of Green Meadows Baptist Church. He is survived by his sons, Vance (Karen) and Gene Riddle; also grandchildren Anna Mitchell (Michael) and Grace Riddle; beloved great grandchildren, Caroline, Charlie and Sidney Mitchell; and sisters-in-law Gladys Hockaday, Garnette ""Dot"" Bodsford, Jackie Vogler and Betty Vogler. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Green Meadows Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Green and Rev. Ray Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
