Mrs. Willie ""Mae"" Burchette, age 83 of King went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday afternoon November 16, 2011 at Village Care of King. Mrs. Burchette was born in Forsyth County April 19, 1928 to Willie and Elma Knott Phillips. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle in Kernersville and worked at Hanes Hosiery for many years. Mae was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and a lady that everyone loved to be with, her sense of humor always kept you laughing and she seemed to have never met a stranger. In addition to her parents Mrs. Burchette was preceded in death by her husband; Billy Howard Burchette, Sr. and three sisters. Mrs. Burchette is survived by one daughter; Linda (Roger) Blankenship of King. Three sons: Billy ""Buster"" Howard Burchette, Jr. of Kernersville, Donnie (Teresa) Burchette of OK and David (Sandra) Burchette of King. Nine grandchildren: Chad (Krista) Burchette, Tosha (Matt) Willard, David ""Stevie"" Blankenship, Chris (Carrie) Blankenship, Angie Blankenship, Todd (Sherrie) Burchette, Melanie (Greg) Burrow, Allen (Stacy) Burchette, and Eric (Jessica) Burchette. Seven great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Burchette will be conducted Saturday morning, November 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Rev. David Neese. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening November 18th from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to all the staff at Village Care of King for all their love, care and support.
