Willie Thomas Bean

Winston Salem-Willie Thomas Bean, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Silas Creek Manor. He was born December 13, 1927 to the late Lindsay D. and Emma Morphis Bean. Mr. Bean was a Korean veteran, having served with the 74th Combat Engineers in Korea. He was of the Protestant faith. For over twenty years he was on the staff at Lamberti Hairdressers, Thruway Shopping Center and late was owner of Tom's Beauty Salon. Surviving are his niece, Mrs. Royce (Margaret) Jones; one great-nephew, Jason Jones of Bonifay, FL; and many cousins and close friends. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:30 am Saturday prior to the service at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
