William "Bill" Templeton

KERNERSVILLE – William “Bill” Kalick Templeton, 89, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at his home. Bill was born on August 3, 1933 in Iredell County to Nerren and Ina Templeton. Bill put himself through school, graduating from Mitchell College, Forsyth Technical Community College, UNC-Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University.  He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving as a Military Policeman in Europe. Bill considered his time serving our country as a soldier to be one of his greatest accomplishments.

He later retired from Western Electric Company and was a member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church. Bill loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Glynna Dobson Templeton; his daughter-in-law, Tammy Snow Templeton; and his brother, Laverne Templeton.

Surviving are three children, Amelia Summers (James), Tony Templeton, and Amanda Fowler; and many extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Rob Decker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Saturday, January 21, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
