William Jackson Woodlieff

WOODLIEFF - Pfafftown Mr. William Jackson Woodlieff passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home with his loving wife by his side. He was born August 21, 1936 in Botetourt County, VA the son of the late Walter and Lula Woodlieff. Mr. Woodlieff proudly served 5 years in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He had been disabled since 1989 and seriously ill for several months. Mr. Woodlieff liked to garden and grow tomatoes. He also loved fishing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodlieff was preceded in death by his beloved son, William Jeffrey Woodlieff in 1981; and three sisters. Surviving are his beloved wife of 54 years, Shirley Comer Woodlieff of the home; one sister, Barbara Boger; one sister-in-law, Barbara Rogers; a special niece, Kelli Dull and husband, Michael; a special nephew, Shane Dull; also, several nieces and nephews; and many friends. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 21 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Brother Don Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park with military rites provided by American Legion Post 290 of King. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
