Mr. William ""Bill"" Eugene Wilson, 78, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 24, 1930 to the late Joseph and Flossie Stewart Wilson in Davie County. Mr. Wilson owned the College 66 service station on Polo Rd. for 35 years. Before owning the service station, he was a meat cutter with Twin City Packing Co. Mr. Wilson loved to bowl and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Preceding him in death was his parents and a brother, Jay Wilson. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Shirley Huffman Wilson; two sons, Steve Wilson and wife Carol and Billy Wilson and wife Stephanie; daughter, Dianna ""Punkin"" Holmes and husband, Ron; five grandchildren, Jennifer Visconti and fiancé© Jon Knight, Michael Visconti II, William ""Blake"" Wilson, Joshua Wilson, and Travis Stike; one great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Knight; brother, Robert Wilson and wife Lou; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. Bill Chatman officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Carefree, Inc. 275 Carefree Lane Stokesdale, NC 27357.
