William Bill Snyder

Mr. William ""Bill"" Richard Snyder, 71, of Winston-Salem, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1939 in Forsyth County to the late Lester and Frances Westbrook Snyder. Mr. Snyder served in the US Marines and retired from Leaseway Motorcar after 25 years of service. He was a member of Advent Moravian Church. William loved raising goats and various other agriculture endeavors. He also enjoyed fishing with his buddies. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, James Wayne Snyder. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Smith Snyder, of the home; three daughters, Melinda Diaz, of Burlington, Robin Lockhart (Charles) of Winston-Salem and Kelly Lovette (Brian) of Stanleyville; two sons, Richard Scott Snyder (Jennifer) of Pfafftown and Christopher Snyder of Raleigh; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Steve Snyder (Bonnie) of Davidson County and Allen Snyder (Gwen) of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be conducted Monday, August 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Bob Peek officiating.
