William Carter

Mr. William Robert Carter, 85, of Advance, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 11, 1937 in Davie County to Robert Avington Carter and DeEtte Turner Carter. William was a faithful member and deacon of Freedom Baptist Church, retired from Davie Oil Company and was a lifelong farmer. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Peggy Hamilton Carter; one daughter, Wanda Wisecarver (Robert); one son, Michael Carter; four grandchildren, Jason Wisecarver (C.J.), Jessica Coggins (Stephen), Patrick Carter and Jaclyn Barkley (Jordan); three great grandchildren, Gavin, Ganon and Grace Wisecarver and a lifelong friend, Frank Myers. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at Freedom Baptist Church, 118 Cornatzer Rd., Mocksville, NC with Pastor Billy Louya, Preacher Justin Barkley and Rev. John Byerly officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday at the church.
