William Thomas Moss

KERNERSVILLE - William Thomas Moss, 81, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Hospice of High Point. He was born July 11, 1931 in Surry Co. to the late William Oliver and Mary Adkins Moss. Mr. Moss was an active member of Samaritan Baptist Church and the Kernersville Public Library. He was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps, and he retired from Carson Stout Furniture Co. with 23 years of service. William loved to fish, garden, read, play his guitar and sing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Anne Martin Moss; one son, Samuel Moss; and two brothers, Arnold and Johnny Moss. Surviving are three sons, Timothy ( Kay) Moss, Randy (Susan) Moss, and Patrick (Kim) Moss all of Wallburg; two brothers, Lonnie (Delores) Moss and Larry (Sue) Moss all of High Point; four sisters, Vauter Mae Wilson of Mocksville, Opal Witcher of High Point, Polly (Gerald) Morgan of Jamestown, and Laura ""Peggy"" (Don) Brown of Lexington; five grandchildren, Amanda Lowe, Jenilee (Dustin) Gardner, Jeffrey Moss, and Rebecca Moss , and Bobby (Yvette) Moss; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Cochran, Katelyn Lowe, and Lucas Gardner. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Clyde Akers, Rev. Don Brown and Chaplain Craig Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M.
