William Everett Moore

MOORE Mr. William Everett Moore, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born December 6, 1923 in Forsyth County to William Edgar and Edna Guinn Moore. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in Europe during WWII. He was a charter member of Peace Haven Baptist Church. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Smith Moore; and a sister, Katherine M. Huffman. Surviving is a son, William Edgar ""Ed"" Moore of Winston-Salem; three daughters, Kay M. Worrell (Gleason) of Ridgeway, VA, Marie M. Smith and fiance', Tracy Warren of Winston-Salem, and Margaret M. Holleman (John) of Leland; six grandchildren, John, Karen, Travis, Misty, April and Adam; nine great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Pauline M. Potter of Kure Beach. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Elder Gleason Worrell and Dr. Ray W. Benfield officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4p.m. Sunday, November 1.
