William Linville

Winston-Salem- Mr. William (Bill) Norman Linville, 90, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 30, 1927 in Forsyth County, the son of John and Addie Vance Linville. He was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, and was retired from McLean Trucking Co. as head of the print shop. A kind, quiet, patient, and witty man who enjoyed woodworking and gardening, he was devoted to his Lord, wife, children, and grandchildren. He was loved by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Linville and a sister, Alverta Lynch. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Peggy E. Linville; two daughters, Pam Parks (Steve) of Winston-Salem and Sandy James (Stephen) of Mocksville; a brother, Donald Linville (Jane); five grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Stephen, Jr. (Melissa), Shawn, and Samantha (Colby), and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Stephen James officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
