LINK WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. William Kermit Link, Jr., 62, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, December 26, 2008, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 17, 1946, in Davidson County to William Kermit Link, Sr. and Vivian Sowers Link. Mr. Link was a member of Ardmore Baptist Church. He received his undergraduate degree in math from Wake Forest University in 1968. He worked for IBM at Research Triangle Park and founded Boy Scout Troop 207, Uwharrie Council. Surviving are his wife, Laurel Hill Link of the home; a daughter, Beth Taylor and husband, Robert of Winston-Salem; a grandson, Benjamin William Taylor; a sister, Sally Blake of Wallburg, NC; three nieces, Carly Blake of New York City, Ellie Pruitt of Mexico City and Austen Blake of Charleston, SC; a brother-in-law, Curtis Hill (Irina) of Beverly Hills, CA; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Maxwell (Rupert) of Columbia, SC and their children, Ashley Maxwell of San Diego, CA, Shelley Maxwell of Columbia, SC, Lindsey Maxwell of Clemson, SC and Patsy Clegg (J.R.) of Houston, TX and their children, David (Karie) Hill of Burlington, NC, and Pamela Hutton (Alan) of Baytown, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11: 00 a.m. Tuesday at Ardmore Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Ireland and Rev. Christa Warise officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah United Church of Christ Cemetery in Welcome, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
