William Ledford, Sr.

Mr. William Harold Ledford, Sr., 89, of Clemmons, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Friday, February 5, 2021.  William was born in Forsyth County on May 11, 1931, to the late William Frank Ledford and Lille McCann Ledford.  He served in the United States Army National Guard and retired from the city of Winston-Salem after 30 years of service.  In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Welch Ledford.  He is survived by his daughter, Susan Ledford Elliott; one son, William Harold Ledford, Jr. (Andrea); three grandchildren, Chase Elliott, Amanda Merritt, and Lindsay Dahbour; and four great-grandchildren.  A private graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park with Rev. Doug Klein officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Union Ridge United Methodist Church, 3620 Old Lexington Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Ledford.
