William Ray Jones

JONES William Ray Jones, 80, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011. He was born on May 23, 1931 in Forsyth County to John Paul ""J.Paul"" and Willie White Jones. Mr. Jones worked as a sales representative of The Hastings Company, Inc. until 1975 when he founded Ray's Auto Parts. He was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Virginia ""Jennie"" Essex Jones; his parents; one sister, Wanda J. Haas; and one brother-in-law, Donald F. Smith. Surviving are his two children, Ronald Jones (Frances) of Cornelius and Winston-Salem, and Sandra Donelson (Mike) of Orlando, FL; one granddaughter, Carly Donelson whom he cherished greatly; one sister, Evelyn Conrad (Ezra); two special sisters-in-law, JoAnn E. Smith and Peggy Smith (Royce); and many special nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Stephen M. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
