William Edward Henley, Jr.

Mr. William Edward Henley, Jr., 71, of Mocksville, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Salisbury.

He was born in Rowan County, NC to William Edward Henley, Sr. and Elizabeth Farmer Henley who preceded him in death. William was in the U.S. Navy on an aircraft carrier at the unofficial beginning of the Vietnam War. He was retired from TWA Airlines and Sam's Club.

Surviving is his best friend and loving wife, Loleta Marsh Lynch Henley; aunts, uncles, and cousins; three step children and their spouses, Ross Lynch (Myrna), Angela Spangler, Melissa Fuhes (Alfreado); step grandchildren, Sylvia (Steve), Cecilia, Ryder, Savanna, Jaksen; and step great grandsons, Ean and Elie. William will be missed and always be in our memories.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Chaplain Chris Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Memorials may be made to AARF, 311 Harvey Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
