William George

William Mason George, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 22, 2018.
He was born February 10, 1929 in Winston-Salem NC. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Charlotte, for 65 years, who passed away in 2015. William was a loving and supportive father to his two daughters, Sharon George and Susan Dilbeck. He was also a wonderful Grandfather and role model for his grandsons: Cody Hendricks, who lived with him in Winston Salem, William Dilbeck, from New Bern NC, and Daniel Dilbeck.
William will be forever remembered for his love for God and his church, love for his family, stories of life experiences, and his belief in always helping others. He was a master at woodworking, a gardener, and loved fishing. William was a member of First Baptist Church in Kernersville where he cherished every moment he was able to attend. He was a US Navy Veteran, where he served on the Hospital Ship Constellation and had many great stories about his time served. He retired from ADT Company after 42 years of service.
The family will receive visitors at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held in his honor at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Dr. Steve Martin and Rev. Anita Laffoon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Kernersville, fbckernersville.org, FBCK Facility Improvement Campaign, or St. Judes.
