William Franklin Foster

Mr. William Franklin Foster, 92, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1917 in Davie County to the late Kelly and Flossie Anderson Foster. Mr. Foster was a longtime member for nearly 70 years at Woodland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. His favorite ministry was singing with a group every Wednesday to the residents at Springwood Care. Preceding him in death was his wife, Ruby Groce Foster; his parents and two brothers, Howard and Roscoe Foster. Surviving are two sons, Eugene Foster and wife Barbara and Robert Foster; two grandsons, Brandon and Dustin Foster and a granddaughter, Tiffany Foster. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gammons and Rev. Zeno Groce officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund 3665 Patterson Ave. Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
