Mr. William Evander ""Buddy"" Fishel, Jr., 74, of Clemmons, NC, beloved husband, father, and ""Pops,"" passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Trinity Elms Assisted Living. Born on February 3, 1941, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late William Evander Fishel, Sr., and Anna Albarty Fishel, he graduated from James A. Gray High School in 1959. Buddy and his classmates were very close and still met once a month for breakfast. After high school, he attended Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA and High Point College. He was a press operator for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco for 37 years. Buddy was a lifetime member of Trinity Moravian Church in Winston-Salem where his grandparents were charter members. He served as elder and a long-time usher at the church and always enjoyed serving Lovefeast to his fellow Moravians. Buddy was a member of the Trinity Moravian Band for 60 years where he was a third generation tuba player. He volunteered for many years at Meals on Wheels. Buddy was a proud member of The Deacon Club and an avid fan of Wake Forest football and basketball. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Buddy enjoyed many activities with his wife Carol, including square dancing with the Salem Squares and traveling within the United States and abroad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Cannon, and Nancy's husband Richard (Dick); brother-in-law, Richard Redding, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Joan Morgan. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carol Redding Fishel of the home; one daughter, Suzanne Lang (Perry) of Lewisville, NC; one son, Robert William Fishel (Viorica) of Concord, NC; five grandchildren, Joseph Morrow (Kay)< Daniel Morrow, Caroline Morrow, Evan Fishel, and Amy Cogar; two sisters, Eleanor Johnson (Burke) of Venice Beach, FL and Starr Hendel (Ed) of Adelphi, MD; and one brother, Steve Fishel (Susie) of Lexington, NC. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Trinity Moravian Church with Rev. John Jackman and Rev. Bill McElveen officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Trinity Moravian Church, 220 East Sprague St., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
