William David Farmer

Mr. William David Farmer 89, of Winston Salem passed away Tuesday September 9, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Farmer was born August 6, 1919 in Franklin County, Ga. to William Ace and Blanche Smith Farmer. He was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving with the 179th Field Artillery Unit in the European Theatre. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company where he was employed for 36 years at the Archer Aluminum Division. He was a long time resident of the Jonestown Road community and he was a charter member of the Jonestown Civic Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Edith Warden Farmer, one son Jerry Farmer and wife Ellen of Lewisville, one daughter Glenda F. Beauchamp and husband Tony of Winston Salem, three grandchildren Randy Beauchamp and wife Lauren of Smith Mountain Lake, Va, Derrick Beauchamp of Winston-Salem, and Lee Ellen Farmer of Lewisville. A funeral service will be conducted Friday September 12, 2008 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Neill Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service
