Mr. William ""Josh"" Brady Collins, Sr., 100, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at his home. Mr. Collins was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born March 4, 1911 in Surry County Jim and Violet Virginia Cobbler Collins. He retired from Western Electric and loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Collins was a charter and active member of Northwoods Baptist Church where he served as an usher for over 75 years as long as his health permitted. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 70 years, Lillie Pinnix Collins; four brothers; four sisters; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Collins and a son-in-law, Tony Rickmon. Surviving are five children, Lois Davis (Bill) of Old Town, Shirley Rickmon of Winston-Salem, Faye Hudspeth (Edward) of Kernersville, William ""Bill"" Collins, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sammy Collins of Pilot Mountain; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren and numerous special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Northwoods Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Thompson and Pastor Rufus Culler officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
