William "Bill" Bert Carter

Mr. William ""Bill"" Bert Carter, 73, of Advance passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He was born July 24, 1942 in Forsyth County to Roy Lee and Lucille Sidden Carter. Mr. Carter was retired from Pilot Freight. His enjoyment in life came from his family and also from farming with his brother, Hobert. He was preceded in death by his brother Hobert Carter and a sister, Irilla Carter. Surviving him is his wife of 56 years, Linda Stroud Carter; three sons, Dennis Carter (Cynthia), David Carter (Pat) and Jeff Carter (Lora); a daughter, Lori Gunter (Keith), all of Advance; twelve grandchildren, Jenny, Jessica, Adam, Ben, Megan, Matthew, Brea, Boyd, Hannah, Shawn, Curtis and Jacob; eight great granddaughters; a sister, Thomasine Norman; four in-laws, Brenda, Jerry, Sonny and Sylvia and his faithful companion Little Bell. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Mocks United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
