William Roscoe Brown

Winston-Salem - Mr. William Roscoe Brown, 70, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at his home. He was born May 17, 1939 in Forsyth County to Tyral C. and Lilly Hudson Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and was retired from R.J. Reynolds with 32.9 years of service. He was a member of Moose Lodge #466 where he was past Governor, and was also past President of Dictrict 8 of the N.C. Moose Association. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Diane Seward Brown; a sister, Betty Brown; a brother, Terry C. Brown; and a grandson, Zachary Dean Brown. Surviving are three daughters, Pamela Jones and husband Gary of Independence, VA, Nancy Evans and husband Bert of Germanton, and Amanda Whisenhunt and husband David of Pfafftown; one son, Tony Brown and wife Pam of Rural Hall; two stepchildren, Ellen and Thomas McCollum; five grandchildren, Patrick McGee, Holly Evans, Katy Brown, Corbin Brown, and Bailey Whisenhunt; four great grandchildren, Brandon and Savannah Jones, McKenna and Mariah McGee; a very special and dear lady, Janet Stanley of the home; and a special niece, Gina Cecile. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 20 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Harold Shives officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
