Mr. William Wesley Brown, 89, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Portsmouth, VA on October 10, 1926 to the late Raymond Cecil and Esther Hoffler Brown. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII and was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. He was a loving father of four and devoted husband since 1949. He worked for Southern Railway, was a diesel mechanic at Roadway, managed Rol-a-rink in High Point, and retired from Qualified Metal Fabricators in Kernersville. Preceding him in death was his wife, Betty West Brown and two brothers, Hugh and Raymond Brown. Surviving is his son, David Brown (Lisa) of Fairbanks, Alaska; three daughters, Shirley Brown Everhart (Eddie) of Mocksville, Cindy Brown Key (Mike) of Apex, and Kelly Brown Shircliffe (Larry) of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; also surviving is his sister, Esther Kye and a nephew, Mike Kye. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Pisgah United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Harlow officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Pisgah United Methodist Church, 2165 Pisgah Church Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Brown.
