William Frank Bristow, Sr.

William Frank Bristow, Sr., 75, passed away on Tuesday February 17, 2015. He was born May 22, 1939 to George & Lillie Bristow. Bill served in the US Marine Corp following which he experienced great joy in being a Boy Scout Troup leader. He is survived by his wife Phyllis of 53 years and a daughter Susan of W-S, NC and a son Wil of Durham, NC, two sisters; Barbara Banks of Lubbock, Texas and Karlene Messick of Kernersville. One grandson Matthew Price, one step-granddaughter Rachel Price, two step-great granddaughters, Audrey & Haleigh. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Patti Kiser, Belinda, Megan, Kendra, Jackie and the staff at Springwood Care Center for their care and kindness during Bill's illness. A memorial service will be held 1:00pm Friday February 20, 2015 at Hanes United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, officiated by Rev. Wes McCloud and Dr. Earl Crow with visitation to follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hanes United Methodist Church at 402 Harvey St, Winston Salem, NC 27103 or the American Heart/Stroke Association.
