William Russell Bowers, Sr.

Mr. William Russell Bowers, Sr, 84, of Winston-Salem passed away at home on February 25, 2025. William was born on February 11,1941, to Paul Baxter Bowers and Jean Zora Russell, in Forsyth County. Following graduation from RJ Reynolds High School he joined the US Air Force and served from 1959-1963. He worked as an electrician for nuclear power plants. His home church was Salem Baptist Church. William will be remembered for his generous nature. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, John Sr., and sister, Jeanette. Surviving are his sons, William Bowers, Jr. and Kevin Loman; siblings, Diana Cooper (Brian), and Paul Bowers, III; granddaughter, Heather Holland; and great grandchildren Madeline and Evan; nieces and nephews, Rusty, Paul III, Johnny, Sabrina, and Stephen Bowers, Teresa Plemmons and Allen Bruce; as well as close friends, Butch and Donna Hutchens, and Sandra Smith. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Parklawn Memorial Park with Rev. Kevin Kilbreth officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
