William ""Bill"" Harrison Bolin, 82, passed away September 29, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center and is now with the Lord whom he loved dearly. He was a member of First United Church of Christ. He was born in Forsyth County to the late William Blum Bolin and Allie Lambeth Bolin. As a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Bolin served as a fighter pilot. He was the first North Carolinian to join the Mach Busters Club exceeding the sound barrier in an F-100 Super Sabre Jet. He was commander of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 9, Winston-Salem from 2000 - 2002 and was the President of the Forsyth Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Alice Bolin and his sister, Carol Bolin Chatham. He is survived by his daughter, Renee O'Neal and husband Ray; two grandchildren, Nolton O'Neal and Megan O'Neal; His brothers, David, Roy, Roger, and Gene Bolin; his sisters, Laura Bolin Whittington and Amelia Bolin Yates. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, October 3, 2013at Forsyth Memorial Park with the Rev. Wayne Linville officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
