William Vester "Buddy" Boles

Mr. William Vester ""Buddy"" Boles, 85, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born on September 14, 1929 in Stokes Co. the son of the late William Edward Boles and Rosa Lee Marshall Boles. Buddy was a member of First Baptist Church of Rural Hall and was retired from AT&T with 38 years of service. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters; Ida Lane, Lucille Smith, Annie Mae Southern and Marie Fulp. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Grace Flinchum Boles of the home, two daughters; Sherry Hambright (Cubby) of Pfafftown and Karen Mitchell (Rick) of King, four grandchildren; Josh Mitchell (Bobbi Jo), Corey Mitchell (Haylee), Crystal Cummings (Rob) and Kendal Stallings, three great-grandchildren, Liam Mitchell, Peyton Cummings and Lane Mitchell, who is expected here in March. Buddy is also survived by a brother, Carl Boles and two sister; Frances Brown and Nancy Bowman. A graveside service with military rites will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall with Rev. Jimmy Moore and Rev. Keith McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. this evening Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
