Mr. William Kenneth ""Ken"" Anderson, 83 of Winston Salem passed away Friday April 23, 2010 at his home. He was born to the late Gale and Mae Warren Anderson on November 6, 1926 in Wilkes county. Ken was owner and operator of Anderson's Grocery in Winston Salem for 30 years. After retiring and closing the business he enjoyed joking and laughing with his long time friends who would stop by for a soft drink and a pack of nabs. He will be remembered by everyone who knew him for his great sense of humor, quick wit and his passion for classic cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years , Jackie Burchette Anderson and brother Clyde A. Anderson. Surviving are three brothers Charles J. Anderson and Carl L.H. Anderson and wife Eva of North Wilkesboro, and James Don Anderson and wife Dottie of Biscoe, one sister Joann Jarvis and husband Wayne of Wilkesboro, and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special friends and caregivers Frank and Barbara Flores and Jeannie Workman. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, April 26, 2010 at Piney Creek Methodist Church in Piney Grove, N.C. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6pm Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Hayworth-Miler Silas Creek Chapel.
