Willa Jean Hatcher Miller, 85, passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday, March 28, 2023. She was born March 15, 1938 in Surry County to the late Wallace and Linda Hatcher. Willa was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She enjoyed cooking, raising flowers, dancing, listening to music, traveling when able, and creating art. Willa used her passion for cooking to create a career as a short order cook before retiring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Richard Allen Miller, three brothers; Samuel Hatcher, James Hatcher and, Walter Hatcher, as well as six sisters; Ruthie Hatcher, Hazel Neil, Jacqueline Hatcher, Fannie Johnson, Veronica Brown, and Linda Hatcher. Willa is survived by her three sons; Wallace Hatcher, Lawrence Conrad, and Randall Conrad, ten grandchildren; Camille Banks Payne, Alicia Thompson, Dwayne Bennett, Steven Bennett, Latoya Bennett, Byron Conrad, Desmond Harris, Randall Conrad II, Ricky Simon, and Amari Stimpson-Hatcher, four great-grandchildren, one sister Mattie Hatcher, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday April, 5 2023, at Saint James United Methodist Church with Rev. Rodney Davis and Rev. Al Hill officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday March 4, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
