Will Vernon, Sr.

Mr. Will Roger Vernon, Sr., 83, of Mocksville, went home to be with his Lord Sunday, January 3, 2021, at the SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin. He was born in Stokes County on April 14, 1937, to the late Dewey and Alice Hooker Vernon. Roger was a Christian of the Baptist faith and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Mocksville.

In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by two sons, Will Roger, Jr. and Jeffrey Warren; a grandson, Joshua Vernon; four brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Ann Vernon; three sons: Michael (Kristi), Brian (Cathy), and P-nut; ten grandchildren; and his devoted companion and caregiver, Colleen Binkley, whom he loved very much.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Darrell Cox. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, 243 N. Lee Ave., Yadkinville, NC 27055. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
