Wilburn Lee "Buddy" Young

Mr. Wilburn Lee ""Buddy"" Young, 85, of Rural Hall, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born March 29, 1929 in Forsyth County to Lee Bryant Young and Ruby Locke Young. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and retired from NC Hwy Department after 31 years of service. Mr. Young enjoyed his family and made them priority number one in his life. He especially adored his grandson. Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Hazel White Young; son, Darin Lee Young and wife Susan; grandson, Zachary Lee Young; sisters-in-law, Sylvia White, Barbara Ann Tucker and husband Danny; brothers-in-law, Donald White and Jackie White; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Leak Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Brandon, Mr. John W. Booth, Jr., and Rev. Craig Richards officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Leak Memorial Baptist Church cemetery fund, 1324 Leake Memorial Church Rd., Germanton, NC 27019.
