Wilbur McMahan

Mr. Wilbur McMahan, age 89 of Advance, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1922 in Davidson County to the late Frank and Sadie Tucker McMahan. Mr. McMahan served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of Redland Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Myers McMahan, a son-in-law, Virgil Garner, six brothers and four sisters. Surviving are one daughter, Novella Garner of Lexington; one grandson, Lee Garner of Thomasville; one brother, Albert McMahan and wife Cora and three sisters, Betty James, Rose Wade and Mary Koontz. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Pastor Will Pryor. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington.
