Wilbert "Smitty" C. Smith

Wilbert "Smitty" C. Smith, 72, from Walkertown, NC, formerly from Portage, PA, passed away on July 8, 2023, at home. He was born March 13, 1951, in Cambria County, PA, the son of Gerald A. Smith and Cleda (Mock) Baer. He retired from Thompson Arthur Paving. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working in the yard and lending his mechanical talents to others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gene Smith, Gerald Smith, Jr., Wayne Smith and Shirley Sherman and daughter-in-law, Lisa Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda (Burkett) Smith, his loving children, Bill Smith (Holli), Sean Smith (Jeanne), Nichole Thornton (Jared) and Johnny Smith. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Brent Smith (Brittany), Alyssa Smith and Ashlyn Thornton and great grandchildren, Caden and Colson Smith. Also survived by his siblings, Mae Miller, James Smith (Joan), Patty Chapman and Galen Smith.

A service will be held at a later date. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
