Wayne Robert Williams

Mr. Wayne Robert Williams, 76 of Advance passed away October 16, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Ashe County to the late Robert Hampton Williams and Minnie Fay Williams. Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired as Produce Manager for A&P Grocery Stores. He loved bluegrass music and was an avid antique collector. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Williams, and a daughter Dianne Williams, and a sister and two brothers. Mr. Williams is survived by his daughter, Brenda Denny and husband Joe; two sons, Larry Williams and wife Karen, and Hank Williams and wife Angela; three grandsons, one granddaughter, three great-grandsons, three sisters, and a brother. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, October 18, 2010 at Calloway Cemetery in West Jefferson, NC with Pastor Will Prior officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
