Wayne Purnell Rogers

KERNERSVILLE-Wayne Purnell Rogers, 72, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at h is home. He was born December 12, 1942 In Baltimore, MD. Mr. Rogers was a member of Holy Cross and occasionally attended Immaculate Heart of Mary. He was a United States Army Veteran with the 101st Airborne Division having served two tours in Vietnam. Wayne loved target shooting, wood working and working on race cars. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Marie Allen; brother, Robert Lee Rogers; and an infant sister, Nancy Rogers. Surviving are his wife, Joan Glavnig Rogers of the home; son, Brian Rogers and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Kimberly Dagney and husband, Colby; grandchildren, Caleb and Jordon Lehrschall, Allye Rogers, Cage and Aubrey Dagney; and his step-father, Frank Allen. A Wake Service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m May 4, 2015 at the funeral home.
